Ecommerce Alliance and Mountain Partners Join Forces

Ecommerce Alliance and Mountain Partners have decided to join forces. With this step, Mountain Partners becomes one of the leading investors for digital companies and the portfolio of Ecommerce Alliance (ECA) can be substantially increased.

The Supervisory Board of ECA approved this agreement at its meeting on 24 April 2017. The transaction is carried out in several steps and is to be completed by summer 2017 at the latest. In order to strengthen the cooperation between the two companies and to create synergies, Daniel Wild assumes the function of the CEO of Mountain Partners AG from 1 May 2017 in addition to his role at ECA.

“We want to exploit the upheavals that emerge from the digital revolution in order to jointly develop sustainable business models and expand internationally,” said Daniel Wild, Chief Executive Officer of ECA and Mountain Partners. “The business models of the two companies complement each other optimally and ECA gets an established financial partner with Mountain Partners, which strengthens the competitive position of ECA by the existing investments,” stated Wild.

In the future, ECA and Mountain Partners will work together closely. ECA will remain listed and focus on more mature digital companies. Mountain Partners will continue to focus on Company Building and Venture Ccapital Asset Management in Europe and the selected emerging markets Latin America and Southeast Asia.

“We are delighted that with Daniel Wild, we have gained one of the pioneers in developing digital companies as a partner,” said Cornelius Boersch, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Founder of Mountain Partners.

“Thanks to the strategic alliance with Mountain Partners, we will be even better positioned in the future and will be able to lift more growth opportunities. And as CEO of the ECA I stand for continuity,” said Wild.
