patronus.io Closes Seven-Digit Financing Round
patronus.io, a Berlin-based web security start-up, receives a seven-figure amount in a current financing round. The Mountain Partner portfolio company makes no statement about the exact sum of the investment.
In addition to the existing investor and company builder Rheingau Founders, which invested in the startup in mid-2016 and has now increased his stake once again, the innogy Innovation Hub and the Rotonda Investor Office are participating in the round. The money should flow into the further development of the product and the expansion of sales.
Founded in late 2015, the start-up offers a fully automated SaaS solution that is tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. Patronus.io wants to offer outsiders of any level in IT the opportunity to check their online shops and websites for vulnerabilities and to examine the source code for programming errors and malicious programs in order to protect themselves from malevolent intrusion.
“Cyber Security is one of the focal topics and most exciting investment areas for the innogy Innovation Hub. The higher the level of digitalization, the greater the need to protect yourself against cyber-attacks. This applies in particular to the design of the future decentralized and digital energy system. The founders of patronus.io have understood that in the digital age, securing this key digital interface between businesses and consumers is one of the biggest challenges of any successful business, “said Christof Kortz, Head of Cyber Ventures at the innogy Innovation Hub.
